Our Optometrist

Simon Della Vedova

Simon is the optometrist at Bay Optical. He grew up in Sydney and studied at the University of NSW for his optometry degree. In 1999 Simon graduated his Bachelor of Optometry degree with honours.

After gaining experience working in Sydney and the ACT, Simon started Bay Optical with Bill Ashton in 2003.

In 2015 Simon completed further study in Ocular Therapeutics at the Australian College of Optometry. This allows Simon to be an ophthalmic medicines prescriber, meaning he has advanced skills in diagnosing and managing various eye diseases and conditions.

Simon is a proud member of the Optometrists Association Australia (OAA), and stays up to date with the latest eyecare research by regularly attending conferences & seminars. This ongoing continuing professional education (CPE) exceeds all requirements of the Association and the Optometry Board of Australia (OBA).

Away from work, Simon enjoys mountain biking and bushwalking with his family. He also relives his youth by continuing to play competitive soccer.
